PIKEVILLE, Ky. – Meg Wright Sidle, Ph.D., director of institutional research and effectiveness at Pikeville College, has been recognized nationally for her literary and research contributions to the NASPA Journal. NASPA is the leading voice for student affairs administration, policy and practice and affirms the commitment of student affairs to educating the whole student and integrating student life and learning.
Sidle’s article, “The Freshman Year Experience: Student Retention and Student Success,” originally appeared in a 1998 volume of the publication but has been selected for reprint in one of two compilation issues featuring the top 10 most downloaded and top 10 most cited journal articles since 1980. Sidle shares the honor with co-author, the late Janet McReynolds.
The articles selected for reprint represent a broad array of topics, methods and historical context, according to NASPA Journal Editor Cary Anderson, and are important to those who work with students.
“On behalf of the profession, I thank the authors for publicly sharing their talents and providing us with guidance, challenge and better insight,” Anderson said.
With more than 11,000 members at 1,400 campuses, and representing 29 countries, NASPA is the foremost professional association for student affairs administrators, faculty, and graduate and undergraduate students. NASPA members are committed to serving college students by embracing the core values of diversity, learning, integrity, collaboration, access, service, fellowship and the spirit of inquiry.
