Pikeville College celebrates Religious Emphasis Week

PIKEVILLE, Ky. – Pikeville College invites you to “Worship on the Hill” during Religious Emphasis Week Nov. 10-13.

The celebration begins on Tuesday, Nov. 10, at 11 a.m. with the weekly chapel service. The guest speaker will be Basil Clark, associate professor of speech and theater. Clark’s message, “Chasing After the Wind,” will feature an adaptation of the life of King Solomon from the Book of Ecclesiastes in the Bible. Music will be provided by the Pikeville College Concert Choir. The chapel service will be held in Booth Auditorium located in Record Memorial Building, fifth floor.

Religious Emphasis Week continues on Wednesday, Nov. 11, with a special Veterans Day salute and community worship service at 7 p.m. in Booth Auditorium. Chris Bartley, youth minister at the Pikeville United Methodist Church, will be the speaker. The service will feature the Pikeville College Concert Choir, alumna Laura Ford Hall and the Big Sandy Singers, members of the Armed Services, the college’s ROTC color guard and campus student groups Blessed Unity of God, Baptist Campus Ministries and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
