PIKEVILLE, Ky. – Kayla Pennington of Pikeville has received the 2009 Kentucky Manufactured Housing Institute (KMHI) Scholarship. Pennington was awarded one of three $1,000 scholarships given to graduating high school seniors who currently reside in manufactured homes in Kentucky. Since 1997, KMHI has awarded many scholarships to deserving students.

Pennington will be attending Pikeville College in the fall. She is the daughter of Tamara and Jeff Pennington. A graduate of Pike County Central High School, she maintained a 3.8 GPA in addition to working part-time and participating in a variety of school and community activities.

The KMHI is an industry trade association that represents retailers, manufacturers, service/supply companies and community operators involved in the manufactured and modular housing industries and doing business in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
