PIKEVILLE, Ky. – The women’s bowling program at Pikeville College has attracted some outstanding bowlers. All-Americans, Bowlers of the Year and Rookies of the Year are standard at Pikeville College, where the program has won the only two team national championships in school history.

In an effort to continue that tradition, Coach Ron Damron’s first signee of the year has already claimed one Bowler of the Year crown.

Rebekah Wilhelm, a senior at Middletown, Ohio, High School, has signed a scholarship agreement with Pikeville College. Wilhelm has a 4.0 grade point average. In addition, she is the reigning Greater Miami Conference Female Bowler of the Year.

“We like Rebekah a lot and feel like she’ll fit in well with our program and, most importantly, our school,” said Damron, who is also vice-president for student services at Pikeville College. “We look forward to having her here and believe she’ll have a nice career at Pikeville College.”

Damron, who has coached both national title teams, has one selling point that no other coach in America has, in any sport: Every person who has been a part of the Pikeville College bowling program for four years has won a national championship.

The bowling team has already won a tournament this year and returns to action Halloween weekend in the Brunswick Southern Classic in Marietta, Ga.
