PIKEVILLE, Ky. – A dozen Pikeville College student-athletes have been honored for their performance in five fall sports by the Mid-South Conference, and 11 were recognized 12 times for their achievements in the classroom.

These honors have been announced over the past week by Commissioner Mike Pollio. To make Academic All-Conference, a student-athlete must maintain a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.25 and be a sophomore or higher. To be honorable mention, a player must receive at least one vote in the all-conference balloting from the sports’ coaches.

They include:

Men’s Cross Country: Academic All-Conference: Kyle Bass, a senior from Paintsville majoring in computer science.

Women’s Cross Country: Academic All-Conference: Ally Boyd, a junior from Ashland majoring in pre-education; Corie Rife, a junior from Vanzant, Va., majoring in pre-education; Shelbi White, a sophomore from Walton majoring in pre-education.

Men’s Soccer: Honorable Mention All-Conference: Five players were selected to the honorable-mention list. They include Michael Heiss, a sophomore from Mobile, Ala.; Adam Johnson, a junior from Pikeville; Andrew Martin, a sophomore from Botavia, Ohio; Ken McAlpine, a junior from Columbia; and Jorden Radliff, a freshman from Wormongary, Australia. Academic All-Conference: Ken McAlpine, a junior from Columbia majoring in pre-education; Gary Smith, a junior from Virgie majoring in English.

Women’s Soccer: Honorable Mention All-Conference: Five players were named to the honorable-mention list. They were Ashley Crutcher, a sophomore from Amelia, Ohio; Meagan Johnson, a junior from Westerville, Ohio; Lyndsay Moncsko, a freshman from Newark, Ohio; Stephanie Settle, a senior from Baltimore, Md.; and Brigette Snyder, a sophomore from Woodstock, Ga. Academic All-Conference: Ashley Crutcher, a sophomore from Amelia, Ohio, who majors in biology.

Volleyball: Honorable Mention All-Conference: Two players were named to the honorable mention list. They were Holly Hyden, a freshman from Birchleaf, Va., and Shelby White, a sophomore from Walton. Academic All-Conference: Leah Harris, a junior from Whitesburg, psychology; Kayla Hatton, a junior from Stamping Ground, pre-education; Elizabeth Mosley, a senior from Martin, pre-education; Shelbi White, a sophomore from Walton; Whitney Whitson, a senior from Hazard, pre-education.
