PIKEVILLE, Ky. – The annual Pikeville College Middle School Tournament will begin on Saturday with eight games surrounding the Bears’ game with Temple Baptist College.

 

The tournament will continue through Friday night’s championship with all 15 games played at the Pikeville College Gym.

 

Action begins at 9 a.m. on Saturday with Wesley Christian meeting Belfry. At 10:15, Hindman will take on Mullins. That game will be followed by Johnson Central playing Dorton at 11:30, with the upper bracket finishing up when Elkhorn City plays Herald Whitaker at 12:45.

 

Lower bracket action commences at 2 p.m. when Johnson Central’s B Team plays A.B. Combs.

 

The tournament will take a break for Pikeville’s 4 p.m. meeting with Temple Baptist College, before resuming at 6 p.m. with Whitesburg playing Inez, followed by Betsy Layne and Millard meeting at 7:15. Opening round play finishes at 8:30 with Adams playing Virgie.

 

The upper-bracket quarterfinals will be played Monday night at 6 and 7:15, with the lower-bracket quarters on Tuesday at the same times. The semifinals are set for Thursday night with the championship game slated for Friday night, Dec. 12 at 7 p.m.
