Top-ranked women's bowling dominates Vegas; men post impressive finishes - January 6, 2010

PIKEVILLE, Ky. – The Christmas break was good to the Pikeville College women’s bowling team, which dominated two tournaments in Las Vegas and ascended to No. 1 in two of the three polls.

The Lady Bears won the 2009 Collegiate Shoot-out and then Las Vegas Invitational. That resulted in a move to the top of the power ratings and came just after they were named No. 1 by the Bowling Writers Association of America. read more

Bowlers continue successful season; Lady Bears win Striking Knights Invite - December 1, 2009

PIKEVILLE, Ky. – The Pikeville College bowling teams have had a successful couple of weeks, with the women winning the Striking Knights Invitational in Louisville and both teams posting respectable showings in the National Collegiate Match Games last weekend.

Pikeville’s women finished first, fourth and eighth in the 25-team field at the Striking Knights tournament the weekend of Nov. 21-22, while the men came in 14th, 16th and 34th in their 39-team event. read more

Bowlers finish strong in SI Elite - November 10, 2009

PIKEVILLE, Ky. – The Pikeville College women’s bowling team turned in a second-place finish in the Southern Illinois Elite Invitational last weekend in Fairview Heights, Ill.

The men, however, weren’t as fortunate, with the top team coming in 12th in the strong 34-team field at the same event. read more

Lindenwood teams sweep PC bowling tournament - October 19, 2009

PIKEVILLE, Ky. – The Pikeville College women’s bowling team placed all three of its teams in the championship round, had a player take medalist honors and had half the all-tournament team. But when it came time for the big hardware from its own Orange & Black Classic, it went to another team.

Meanwhile, the men placed no team higher than 13th in the 49-team field and had only six bowlers among the top 100 individuals in the tournament it hosted this weekend in the Dayton suburb of Beavercreek, Ohio. read more
