Kyle Wilson is the head coach of the men’s bowling team. At age 16 he started the Junior Tournament Bowlers Association (JTBA), an organization which offered top scratch tournament competition for better bowlers in the Midwest, in which he was the Executive Director until July 2005, when he turned over the organization to others so that he could focus more on his duties at Pikeville College.
Kyle is a native of Mount Vernon, Ohio, where he graduated from Mount Vernon High School in 1982. He worked at his parent’s family restaurant (JODY’S), until September 2005, when his parents retired and closed their family business, after 30 years.
Wilson was hired as the men’s bowling coach, in October 2004, after meeting Ron Damron, athletics director and women’s bowling coach. “Ron was bringing his daughter to JTBA events, in Ohio, and we started talking, and he offered me the men’s coaching job. “I’m excited to be here at Pikeville College. It is a pleasure to be working with a great group of hard-working athletes,” said Wilson.
In Wilson’s free time, he likes to go hiking, horseback riding, listen to music, collect sports cards, baseball and of course, go bowling. In addition to his duties with the bowling program, Kyle is also residence hall director at Page Hall, intramural director and the director of the student lounge.
