Joe Johnson named new football coach - February 10, 2009

PIKEVILLE, Ky. – Pikeville College didn’t have to search far for its fourth football coach. On Monday afternoon, defensive coordinator Joe Johnson accepted the task of leading the program.

Johnson served as assistant head coach and defensive coordinator during the 2008 season while coaching defensive backs and kickers. Despite its 2-9 record, the Bears were first in the Mid-South Conference against the pass. Click here to read more

Mac Bryan leaving Pikeville College - February 3, 2009

PIKEVILLE, Ky. – Pikeville College has accepted the resignation of football coach Mac Bryan.

Bryan, the offensive coordinator of the Bears during their 2000 season as a club team, was named head coach three years ago. He compiled a record of 10-22 in three seasons as head coach. Click here to read more

Cunningham, Chilton honored by MSC - November 10, 2008

PIKEVILLE, Ky. – It’s been a long, tough road for the Pikeville College defense, but Saturday’s impressive performance in a 17-14 win over WVU Tech has netted one player conference honors. As for Kyle Chilton, it’s becoming a habit he hopes not to break.

Linebacker Anson Cunningham was named Mid-South Conference Defensive Player of the Week on Monday, and Chilton was named Special Teams Player of the Week for the fourth time this season. Click here to read more
