Bears drop season finale to Campbellsville - November 14, 2009
PIKEVILLE, Ky. – A pair of fourth-quarter touchdowns proved to be the difference on Saturday as the Campbellsville Tigers knocked off Pikeville College 31-17.
Pikeville (3-8, 1-5 in the Mid-South Conference East Division) tied the game with 13:30 to play on a 28-yard field goal by senior All-American Kyle Chilton, but the Tigers needed only three plays to respond as freshman Nathan Cooper hit Harold Small with a 54-yard scoring pass 56 seconds later. Bears 'leg' out win over Tech - November 7, 2009
PIKEVILLE, Ky. – The foot of Kyle Chilton and the legs of Dan Wideman were enough to give Pikeville College a 20-3 win over WVU Tech on Saturday afternoon.
Chilton, the first-team All-American kicker from a year ago, nailed two first-half field goals to give the Bears a lead at recess, and Wideman, the quarterback-turned-free safety-turned quarterback, ran for two third-period touchdowns to seal the deal. Click here to read more
Georgetown blanks Bears, 45-0 - October 29, 2009
PIKEVILLE, Ky. – Three days after falling out of the nation’s Top 25, Georgetown College took out its frustrations on Pikeville College to the tune of 45-0.
For Pikeville, which fell to 2-7 on the season, the shutout was only the third time they’ve failed to score in 92 varsity football games. Click here to read more
Big second quarter leads Wise past Bears - October 22, 2009
PIKEVILLE, Ky. – For the second straight week the Pikeville College Bears gave up 21 points in a period and it proved to be the difference as U.Va.-Wise picked up a 28-13 win.
The game was the second Thursday night contest of the season for the Bears, who play again next Thursday night when they visit No. 19 Georgetown College. Click here to read more
