Pikeville College - Academic Affairs - Division of Nursing - Application Procedure

A new nursing class is admitted twice a year — in fall semester with an application deadline of March 1, and in spring semester with an application deadline of November 3. Readmission, LPN-to-RN and transfer applicants from other nursing programs are admitted to either fall or spring semester with an application deadline of respectively, March 1 or November 3.

1. Submit to the Pikeville College Admissions Office by the respective March 1 or November 3 deadline:

   1. Application for admission to Pikeville College (complete a new application if not a current Pikeville College student).

   2. Application for admission to Pikeville College’s nursing program (complete a new application each time you apply).

   3. Official transcript with high school graduation date or passing GED score.

   4. Official transcripts from all colleges, universities and/or vocational schools attended.

   5. Official ACT scores with the required ACT from within the last five years.

   6. Results of the NET with a maximum of two attempts per academic year (fall/spring) to achieve a minimum 50% composite score.

2. The NET is administered for a fee in the Division of Nursing on selected dates. Contact the Division of Nursing for the NET application form and testing dates or click here to see the current test dates.

3. After selection of applicants into the nursing program, if vacancies exist, the Admissions Committee may extend the deadline for applications.

4. If an applicant is not admitted to the nursing program but wishes to be considered in another semester, the applicant must:

   1. complete a new Pikeville College application if not a current student;
   2. complete a new nursing program application;
   3. update one’s records in the Admissions Office;
   4. and (d) retake the NET each academic year (fall/spring). Only one retake per academic year (fall/spring) is allowed only for those with less than 50% score.

Accreditation Statement

Pikeville College is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (1866 Southern Lane, Decatur, Georgia, 30033-4097; telephone number 404-679-4501) to award associate, baccalaureate and doctoral degrees.

Pikeville College’s Elizabeth Akers Elliott associate degree in nursing program has full approval status by the Kentucky Board of Nursing.
